A day in the Life of Claire

This spot is dedicated to the preparation and life of Claire Cox. Claire has been diagnosed with Trisomy 18, which is a genetic disease caused by an extra chromosome at the 18th spot. We know that God can cure Claire at any time, and continue to pray for this; however we also know that His Will, will be done!

Claire Hope CoxOctober 03, 2006 - November 28, 2006

Claire Hope Cox - An infant born on October 3, 2006 departed this world at her home from a chronic illness to join her heavenly father on November 28, 2006. Although her life was brief she touched all those who met her. She is survived by her loving parents Billy and Tammy Cox. Grandparents Eugene and Doris Cox, Lynda Elmore. Claire had four loving siblings Carrie Stuart (Bry), John, Emily, and Camille Cox. One special niece Maggie Stuart and a host of Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. There was a private grave side service at Pinecrest Cemetery.
Psalm 139: verse 13 - 16
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Amen, Claire

We have been praying for you in Texas... it wasn't until today that I realized our "angels" share their earthly Birthdays... (her story: http://www.sidsfamilies.com/index.php?sec=nursery3&id=563&Savannah_Charity_Peterson) ... We will continue to lift your family in prayer... God Bless, Jodie

Jayne's entry was beautiful (Nov.29 around 6PM). She was able to capture the moments and put them on paper. Thank you Jayne for giving me those memories of Sweet Claire. Balloons..how fitting. She lifted my spirits every day when I went to the website to see what new things she had conquered or sweets she had tried. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

May you all continue to be as strong as you were while your angel girl was here with you! I cant imagine the emptiness you may be feeling, But you know she will always be with you and many of us that never even truly knew her. Your an amazing family and GOD blessed you in his own way, and now she gets to be with him always to look over you and your family. Keep your heads up, and know there are so many people out here in this workd thinking of you all.

    Dear Tammy and Billy,

Through this afternoon and early evening I continued to think of the perfect words to describe today and to tell you how beautiful this celebration of Claire's life was. I have to thank Jayne for her beautiful comments about each memorable moment throughout the service today ~ it is more perfect than I could have ever explained. The way you embraced each other with love and faith was amazing.

I can't quit thinking of the peaceful expression on your little angel's face, the strength you displayed although you weren't sure you could, the release of the pink balloons (and the little slow one that eventually made its way to the others), the last beautiful words that were spoken although it was terribly hard, and so many other little moments that made this day complete.

As Father O'Connor said, we no longer need to pray for little Claire for she is with Jesus, but we now pray for you. This is exactly what we do now. For we will never forget such a beautiful life, but you will begin another journey today and through your memories of her, you will live your life as she watches over you. Life is a full circle -

    We love you
    Sandi

Good grief, Sandi! You are right –how could that have been left out –let’s tack it on!

    How:

*Breathlessly we gazed as that last little pink balloon lagged, floundering and struggling.

*Desperately we needed it to escape the tree.

*Audible, our collective exhalation, as it finally took flight.

*Miraculously it soared on the breath of the wind, catching up finally, and ascending…..

    Billy and Tammy,

I know you are being overwhelmed with words of support and sympathy from so many at this time, but I feel compelled to send a personal note. From your unbelievable sharing of events and feelings through Claire’s blog, I feel that I have seen into your souls and so look forward to the opportunity to meet you both in person. You are truly blessed with a remarkable (and beautiful, I might add) family.

My prayers are with you both,

    Janyce

    Dear Cox family,

Your story has been such a blessing to me. I was led to your site through Eliot's blog and I have followed along with your journey. Your precious angels have taught me so much in their brief life. I hurt along with you although I've never met your family. I'll be praying for God to fill you with HIS strength to endure the days ahead. Thanks be to God for having the courage to share Claire's life with others. Your family is both beautiful and inspiring. Prayers from Tennessee. In Christ, Ashley

I am so sorry to hear about Claire. I have been praying for your family since I was "introduced" to ya'll in another friend's blog. Your family along with Eliot's family have been an inspiration to many of us who have never met you. It has been awesome to see the hand of God in all of this. I pray that you continue to see His hand and that His arms will carry you during this time. My heart and my prayers continue to be with you.

    In Him,
