A day in the Life of Claire

This spot is dedicated to the preparation and life of Claire Cox. Claire has been diagnosed with Trisomy 18, which is a genetic disease caused by an extra chromosome at the 18th spot. We know that God can cure Claire at any time, and continue to pray for this; however we also know that His Will, will be done!

    My heart breaks for you both. I am so very sorry for your loss, but on the other hand I am so grateful & happy you got to spend eight wonderful weeks with your Little Miracle. Take comfort that your sweet baby Claire is no longer sick...that there are no more feeding tubes...no more breathing troubles...that she is up in Heaven with our Lord where she can watch over you all until the day comes where you will meet again.

    What Claire's site has taught me...what you and Billy have taught me...is overwhelming...words cannot describe. You and Billy are and will continue to be a great inspiration to me and my family. Your family has been in my prayers from the beginning and will continue to be for a long time. Thank you so much for opening up and sharing your sweet miracle with us all. It has meant a great deal to me and to more than you probably know...

    My heart is so sad today. Not for Claire but for all of us she has left behind. She is in a much better place with so many loved ones that have gone before her. I know there was a line of those waiting to hold her and little Eliot was surely waiting for his friend to play with.
    You both will probably never know how much you sharing Claire with us has meant. She has for ever changed our lives and will continue to do so. Your faith has been an inspiration.     This is a song by Mark Harris. Claire is being tenderly held right this minute by her Maker. Saint Cecelia, a talented musician, will sing your baby daughter to sleep. She is resting comfortably right now, no more Earthly burdens to carry. Claire is finally free!I an only imagine what it's like to lose something as precious and marvelous as Claire. But you know what, you haven't. She's right up there in Heaven!

    Reflections on today –

    How:

    *Wonderful the celebration today of Clair’s life.
    *Lovely and peaceful she appeared.
    *Binding, strong, and consoling are family ties.
    *Reassuring, Father O’Connor’s words.
    *Comforting, Father Shield’s presence.
    *How graceful and gracious, Clair’s mom.
    *Appropriate that Clair died on the anniversary of our grandmother who loved and appreciated children so completely.
    *Moving, Pat’s words that he thinks it was Grandmother that carried Clair to heaven.
    *Fitting that Grandmother’s favorite hymn was “How Great Thou Art” (she paid us a dollar for every verse we memorized).
    *Soothing, the music.
    *Calming, Melanie’s voice.
    *Awesome, the angel cloud meandering across the afternoon sky above our tent.
    *Perfect, Billy’s words.
    *Amazing, the connection between Elliot’s family and Clair’s.
    *Breathtaking, the legacy of these two short lives.
    *Marvelous to turn in time to witness each and every face lifted heavenward as 56 pink balloons, representing Clair’s 56 days with us, floated, like incense, lifting our prayers to the Father.
